Cambashi analysts, David Land and Elena Priguza, had the opportunity to attend the first day of Digital Construction Week on May 17th, 2023. Once again, our analysts were exposed to a wealth of detailed presentations concerning the construction industry and the innovative companies propelling progress.

Below is a concise summary of the talks they managed to attend, with regret for those they were unable to accommodate. The talks they participated in primarily revolved around the following themes:
- Digital Twins
- Information Management
- Sustainability
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Digital twins in construction were a recurring subject throughout the talks. Notably, the first talk of the day focused on Connected Digital Twins, highlighting the commendable efforts of Connected Places Catapult and their collaboration with CReDo. This endeavor aims to create a connected digital twin of critical infrastructure, facilitating cross-sector adaptation to climate change and bolstering climate resilience.
Sustainability remained a prominent topic, exploring how enhanced processes and tools are improving material utilization, waste reduction within the construction workflow, and minimizing the carbon footprint. These tools enable firms to establish dynamic baseline standards, making sustainable design a central element of new projects and mitigating their future impact.
The industry has witnessed enhanced efficiency through the evolution of management tools, offering comprehensive analysis throughout the entire Design/Build/Operate lifecycle. This real-time insight empowers companies to identify and address issues before they escalate, thereby minimizing rework.
Digital Construction Week also showcased AI-powered capabilities presented by vendors such as Dassault Systรจmes and Nemetschek, with the aim of revolutionizing the construction industry. By harnessing AI, construction firms have achieved time savings and overall efficiency improvements in various aspects of their projects. AI algorithms analyze extensive data sets, enabling better decision-making, accurate predictions, and optimized resource allocation. Some construction firms have already implemented these technologies to realize significant time and resource savings while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

David Land and Elena Priguza extend their gratitude to all those involved in organizing such a remarkable event. They highly recommend Digital Construction Week to others.
